Class Information
New Students
New students are always welcome! The best way to find out if
Shinkendo is right for you is to participate in class yourself.
The first three classes a student attends are free, and are
without obligation.
We meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00pm
at the Armory on campus. We will be training in the Southeast corner of the Armory. Though every last Tuesday of the month
there will be a Tameshigiri class held at the Urbana Civic Center.
Initially all
the equipment necessary is some comfortable athletic attire.
Dojo Dues
Regular dojo dues are collected at the first class
of the month. Students can now either pay a semester fee of $50 or a monthly fee of $15. For non-students monthly dues are $20. Students can now pay monthly dues online through credit card or paypal. Just click "Add to Card" and you will get sent to
Paypal's website. Payment by check is fine as well, just make checks payable to "Iwanami Dojo" and give the check to one of the Instructors in class.

Dojo fees are strictly used for renting space and any expense
necessary for the dojo's upkeep. Instructors do not get paid
for teaching.
